Default Filed, How to do Summons for IL

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the earlier response. I need some more guidance and I'd appreciate any that you guys can give me. I went to court morning and filed all the forms for dissolution of marriage and got copies. Now they told me the case managemnt guys will send me the letter for hearing but I do have to do the summons through the sherriff or process server in Illinois cause that's where my wife is. Now first I have to get the summons, get it signed from the court in Hillsborough County here in Tampa and then call the people in Illinois who will serve the papers to her. I will send them the copy of everything and they will serve the packet to her and then send me an affidavit for the service and then I will file the affidavit with the court here. In the meantime the case management guys will (in about 20 days) send me a letter telling me of the hearing date.

    Question 1

Does this sound right? Is this the process?

    Question 2

Is the summons form to serve to my wife in Illinois form number 12.910(a)? Is that the standard form to use no matter where the other party is? If not, which form do I use? / How do I send her the summons in IL?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Sounds right on procedure.

On forms - I have a policy to not comment on forms I have not read. But it sounds like you are on the right track.
