    Default splitting the house

Is there ever a case where one spouse gets the house outright? Does it have to be either buying the other person out or selling and splitting the profit? I feel after everything I've been thru in over 20 yrs. of marriage, I deserve the house and not have to pay a dime. There is one minor child that lives with me, if that makes a difference.

Only if there is an entitlement to alimonyicon - and one possible way to provide up-front alimony is to award the entire house. There has to be a BIG reason for a lopsided distribution.

If there is a minor child many judges will award use of the house until the child is an adult.
