Default Can the Respondent attend hearing?

Hi, my question is... I am the respondent to a Dissolution of Marriage with NO child or assets. I know only the petitioner is required to attend the court hearing but I was wondering if I was allowed to attend also. The reason is that I am concerned she may get emotional and decide for some crazy reason she doesn't want to go through with this. I on the other hand want to get this divorce done and over with, we have been separated for over 1.5 years and I have fallen in love with another women! Even though I am the respondent can I represent myself at the hearing stating that I no longer wish to be in this marriage and that I no longer or will ever love this women again? Thank you, I really appreciate your help.

You can definitely attend the hearing. But you must have filed a counterpetition in order to independently request final judgment at the scheduled hearing. You can do that quickly if you want. The cost is $295.
