My wife and I are currently seperated but I hope we can work it out. We have talked and she wants to remained seperate but not file for divorce. My question is about alimony. I currently make $350 a week and I'm still in school. We've been married 7 years and I have never made more than 400-500 a week. I do have a Master's in Finance and am working towards my CPA license. So I feel like my income should rise. How does this effect alimony payments? Does it matter if I file for divorce now or if it happens after I receive an increase in income?
Thanks

alimonyis a concern but I love my wife and I'm just am looking for the facts before I make any move. We live in Florida, don't have many assets, and our standard of living has been pretty poor over the past 7 years. Would a good paying job that I received after we started living apart make a difference in determining alimony? or would it be imputed anyway? What is your opinion?
Sorry - but my opinion is that you need to have a more in-depth consultation. I gave you the short answer which is all this forum is good for.
You need 20 - 30 minutes of question and answer to get a more accurate opinion. That is not possible through this forum.
