Ahhhhh, Sweet victory!

by Attorney Howard Iken on 09-29-2010 at 06:42 PM
Just got the results of a very detailed, very long hearing on a Prenup. I prepared long and prepared hard. I reallllly wanted to win - not just because winning can be fun, but because I am especially interested in prenups. Waited six weeks for the court order to appear (yes, six weeks!!). It is always sweet to work that hard, wait that long, and then open up the mail and see the good results. Ending a really long day and being tired never felt so good.

Those are the cases that are particularly harmful to children.

It is a HUGE responsibility. As Guardian

Sometimes Mediation is just a stepping stone

by Wesley Chapel Divorce Attorney on 06-09-2010 at 08:02 PM
In most jurisdictions, you must mediate before going to a final hearing or trial. But what about the times you are positive mediation will be a total and complete waste of time? I had one such mediation today. The one BIG issue was previously offered, turned down, offered again, and loudly turned down. So why spend a lot of time or money at mediation? The answer is: because it is a required step. But that does not mean we have to spend a lot of time mediating. The one I did today, we exchanged
