Stephanie Seymour divorce battle hots up

The divorce battle between model Stephanie Seymour and her estranged husband, wealthy entrepreneur Peter Brant, is getting increasingly bitter.

The couple’s marriage collapsed last year and yesterday Seymour filed court papers, alleging that her husband’s private investigator has concocted lies to “harass and defame” her.

Seymour’s split from her billionaire husband has been difficult and is continuing to be played out in a court in Connecticut. The supermodel has now filed papers in Manhattan Supreme Court requesting that a private investigator hired by her husband be questioned in the case.

Seymour’s lawyer wrote in the court papers: "It is [Seymour's] position that the nature and scope of said surveillance was improper, entailed fabricated allegations, was calculated to harass and defame [her] and that such improper conduct may have been suborned by Mr. Brant, and therefore speaks to his character and fitness."

Seymour and Brant are fighting for custody of their three children. Brant, 63, has contended that his wife has drink and drug problems.

The couple married in 1995 and Brant filed for divorce last year. The business tycoon’s holdings include Interview magazine, White Birch Paper Co and an extensive art collection.
