Child Custody and Parent's Ability to Provide

Ability to Provide Food, Clothing, & Medical Care

This factor is not helpful to the judge and is not normally considered in a custody issue.  Alimony and child support will provide the means to support a child if custody is given to the financially disadvantaged parent.

Ability to provide food, clothing, and medical care may become important in extreme cases such as a parent who is homeless or physically - mentally incapable of providing care.

A popular misconception: the parent that has all the money will get the kids.  Not true.
