…Helping you divorce, not destroy.
Dear Potential
Client,
As Parent Facilitator
I work within the rules & roles of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Family Law
Division Parent Facilitator Program to help you and your family deal with
your divorce. A Parent Facilitator can be certified and/or licensed in
different fields (i.e.: Social Work, Psychology, Organizational Behavior)
but the role of a Parent Facilitator is always the same. As facilitator I’m
not neutral and I don’t discuss you lifetime history, or give you legal
advice, accounting recommendations or psychological therapy. Rather, as
facilitator I am an advocate and coach to help you, within a specific length
of time, pinpoint issues that help and hinder understanding and resolution;
identify, develop and refine parenting and communication skills; develop a
plan with skills to work through conflict and resolve disputes; and help you
design a plan or agreement everyone can benefit from and live with.
The goal is to cease
disruption, frustration, anger and confusion and create a settlement which
brings peace, order, consistency, fairness and meets everyone’s
needs—especially your child(ren)’s. This process is not a war (that needs to
be won) but rather a dispute that needs a plan to be resolved.
And finally, but most
importantly, the goal is to work towards making your divorce and your
co-parenting less traumatic and more beneficial for the health, safety and
well being of your child(ren).
As facilitator, I
work with clients via the following general process:
One Hour:
I phone each client and explain the process, rules, roles,
responsibilities and fees. I mail the contract, assessment & analysis
questionnaires to each client.
One Hour:
Each client chooses meeting dates, completes both the assessment &
analysis questionnaires, encloses payment & returns all
paperwork to
me within two weeks
(stamped, self-addressed envelope enclosed).
One Hour:
I receive the signed contract, payment and completed questionnaires;
I review the questionnaires; develop an agenda to address
each clients
objectives; contact both clients
within one week to set meeting dates,
time & location.
Three Hours:
We meet to:
·
Review assessment & analysis
questionnaires
·
Identify priorities, issues, concerns,
players, strengths and goals
·
Develop Plan A and Plan B
·
Discuss implementation, when, how, etc.
Three Hours:
Again, we all meet to:
·
Possibly meet with others? (Children,
extended family, new spouse)
·
Meet with clients only
·
Review Plan A, Plan B and implementation
process, concerns and timeline.
One Hour:
I am available via phone to discuss any concerns or issues
which may have arisen with the implementation of the plan.
Two Hours:
We meet to:
·
Review & discuss how things are working
(Problems? Concerns? Issues? Successes? Strengths? Dilemmas? New Players?)
·
Discuss how to work through future issues
& concerns.
·
If agreement is reached both clients sign
the agreement and get a copy for their records.
One Hour:
Final meeting (to sign final agreement, or to summarize unresolved
issues) and submit signed
agreement or report.
If an agreement (full
or partial) is reach I will memorize the agreement in writing. Each
co-parent will sign the agreement and receive a copy of the signed
agreement. I will submit the original signed agreement to the court’s Parent
Facilitation Program Coordinator and mail copies of the signed agreement to
the client’s attorney.
A Parent Coordinator
assigned by court order is paid $750.00 with payment (who pays and who pays
what amount) being decided by the judge. As court ordered Parent Coordinator
each case takes about 12-15 hours—including phone conferences, preparation,
meetings, and possibly travel time—within three months, start to finish.
Therefore, to begin.
