A Parent Must Allow the Child to Have Contact with the other Parent

    The judge will try to answer the following questions:

    Which parent is more likely to allow the child to have frequent and open contact with the other parent?

    Which parent will foster a close and loving relationship with the other parent?

    The parent that comes out ahead in this factor is more likely to gain custody.

    Florida's official policy is that both parents should be

involved with a child's upbringing regardless of where the child lives.  Your past actions will come up in court - whether you did anything to interfere with visitation and contact with the other parent. 

    Make sure you act consistently in letting your child see both parties.  It is good for your child and will also improve your chances at gaining custody
