Rotating Custody
Rotating custody has a goal of approximately equal parenting time and equal overnights with each parent. The courts uses to be strictly biased against rotating custody. Now, the situation has changed and more courts are awarding rotating custody. For rotating custody to work, both parents must be dedicated to its success. If the child is school aged, there must be some plan to get the child to school during each residential rotation.
One popular misconception, rotating custody eliminates child support. This is not true. But child support will be significantly reduced in a rotating custody situation.
