    Default Contempt of Court

    My name is Susan Hamilton/Beers,
I recieved an ten year injunction against my husband on 4/08/2009. I cannot afford to pay for divorce services, as my life has changed drastically, his has not. He has not paid my monthly since September. With repeated calls to his attorney I was told the money was not there. I proceded to register a contempt of court. My hearing is the
17th of November. I was planning to represent myself because of not being able to arrange for representation. I am sure you will advise me to not do this, but I don't know
quite what to do. I believe that the small amount given me per month compared to what his business brings, should make it clear or unclear as to why he has decided not to pay me. I am sure his attorney has advised him wisely! I work full time and go to college. My time is limited. Can you help me with some advice?
    Sincerely Susan Hamilton/Beers

Thats what this forum is for - giving answers to questions. But from your description, I am not sure what the question is. Did you get support within the injunction? Is he not paying his support? Is that what the hearing is on?

BTW: you should apply to the Florida Dept of Revenue for enforcement services. It is free.

    Default contempt of court-2

I appreciate you replying to my question. I apologize for being unclear. Yes, the support is awarded to me within the injunction. The hearing is for non-payment of that support.
    Thank you,
    Susan Hamilton/Beers

Your job, in that hearing, is to prove the other party has funds to pay the child supporticon. If he does not have funds, an alternative will be to show he has assets to sell. That is the requirement to hold him in contempt of court.

    Default contempt-3

I apologize again for not being clear about the support within the injunction. This is support awarded me. I am not certain as to what it is called. This is not child supporticon. I appreciate your help. I still do not know what I am going to do,as my court date is still scheduled for the 17th. I feel that non-representation on my part is the wrong thing to do, even though I am tempted to do this because of money issues.

It is the same type of proof for spousal support.
