    Default Child Support Visitation Enforceable

    Hello,
My child supporticon case was settled in Florida. My child still resides in Florida, but I reside out of state. The child support papers state that I, as the non-custodial parent, must pay for my child's plane ticket to visit me (several times a year). I'm currently unemployed and only receive a small pension. If I cannot afford to pay for the ticket, what will the courts do to me? Is this enforceable?

If your employment has changed since the child supporticon order was finalized then you should consider doing a Motion to Temporarily Stop or Reduce Child Support. That way if/when you cannot afford to pay for something you have a defense against being held in contempt. If you cannot afford to purchase the plane ticket to have the time sharing you were given in the final judgment you might need to do a Supplemental Petition to Modify Child Support.
