Default How Long to pay alimony?

I have been married for 19+ years, seperated for 1 1/2 of those years, and now I am currently going through a divorce. I have provided the majority of the household income through our marriage. We are both in or mid 40s. My spouse is employeed but makes a fraction of what I make. My question is, how long do I have to pay alimonyicon to my spouse and are there any adjustments to the amount I pay at my retirement or does it stop at retirement? Thank you.

Sounds like alimonyicon will be permanent. Permanent alimony is always modifiable. If you retire at a traditional age (approx 65), you will have a right to modify.
