I cannot make that decision for you. Yes, it is a big risk. But as reported in the news - even Hague signatory countries may not assist with returning children. So out of country travel is a risk - no matter what the country.
I am currently in the process of finalizing the Marriage Settlement Agreement (MSA) in order to finalize my divorce. Part of the MSA is a clause authorizing either parent to 2-weeks a year out of the country. In my case, my ex' family is in Jordan. I have family in both Cuba and Lebanon. I noticed that Jordan is not part of the countries which signed the Hague Convention. I do have my fears based on the fact that he really is alone in this country and although he does have a stable decent job, his wish to harm me might be greater than his wish to succeed in this country. My only positive thought is the I have family in a neighboring country which is at least better than not having anyone or not knowing absolutely anything about the country, which is many times the case.
What would you recommend me? Leave the clause in the MSA or remove it? Which will of course delay the process since he will have an issue with that.
I desperately need help!!
