Motion Contempt hearing
If x owes thousands of dollars in back alimony
.He retired early I guess some jobs let you do that, like law enforcement,firemen,etc...He is stating the reason for modification
is due to changes in his financial status now...Will a hearing let the judge
force him to pay what he owes me,and I guess we have to have another hearing on the modification or termination issue. He never had a judges order to stop paying,he just filed a supplemental petition..I really could use the money that he owes me,my hours have been cut due to the economic downfall...Please give me some encouragement,I am so aggravated and stressed out. I was awarded lifetime alimony that is modifiable, does this also mean it will be terminated,if a judge thinks I have enough to live from payday to payday. I put him through school but not myself,he has great opportunity to snag a greater paying job,he just wants to rid him and his new wife and family of me,who has 3 decades invested....Thank you....

You can argue that he voluntarily is unemployed. You will need to show the normal retirement age for his career and type of employment. The back owed alimony
should still be paid to you. The court can/may terminate spousal support if the payor is unable to continue to pay support and/or if the payee no longer has a need for support.
