Default Do I have to pay child support for a child that is NOT mine?

I started dating a woman who was 5 months pregnant and we lived together for less than a year before we went our separate ways. Now the state of Florida states I have to pay child supporticon for a child that is not biologically mine. The child support paper work is originating out of Tallahassee, Florida but I no longer live in Florida. Doesn't someone have to prove that the child is acutally mine before making me pay child support, such as doing a paternity test? Who can I contact that will be of minimal or no expense to me, since this is not my responsibility? What recourse do I have to remedy this situation? Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated!

Yes, you have an opportunity to prove the child is not yours. But I have to urge you to immediately see an attorney. You may accidentally ignore a document and in doing so, admit paternity. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are at stake. Now is not the time to cheap out and avoid professional help.
